Must you have a copy of course textbook on hand the first week of class?

There was a time when you needed to purchase your books before the course started and have the first assignment ready before you started the course. But now things are different. Some courses still have textbooks. Some ebooks. But with Christina International High School most of our courses (Education2020) has the textbook built into the course. So you need not worry about purchasing a book or two. :-)

But if you do need a hardbound textbook for your course you can go to sites like: Amzaon.com - http://amazon.cm, Barnes
Noble.com - http://barnesandnoble.com
Bigwords.com - http://bigwords.com
Bookfinder.com - http://bookfinder.com
eCampus.com - http://ecampus.com
Powell's Bookstore - http://www.powells.com

Can I do an online class and not have an email account?

You should NOT!!! Your email account is a very important part of communicating with your instructor, classmates, and your school. I would suggest that you create/obtain an email address that represents professionalism. (Please avoid things like Poopsie@abc.com or Ihateyourmother@123.com as you will be lablled by this moniker.) Email addresses usually come right along with your ISP so that the ISP can communicate with you as well. You may aslo be able to have one assigned by your school or purchase one with more bells and whistles like Helloworld.com. With Helloworld you can send video emails and video clips of your works to your instructor and classmates. (http://www.wewillsucceed.com) to learn more.

Is it important that you are computer literate??

You have a very large learning curve if you aren't. There are levels and degrees of knowledge and it is very important that you have some basic knowledge of computers and the softwares used on them. Most schools with online programs have self assessments exams available for users to check for online learner readiness.

If you are planning to take a class online make sure that you know:
1. How to type (keyboarding skills are important)
2. How to use a word processing application. (Make use you have one that will meet your school's requirements)
3. How to upload a file
4. What type of Internet access you have. (dial-up, DSL, cable, dish wireless, etc)
5. How to pay attention to details. (Read the instructions first, print them if necessary)
6. Know your limits. (Are you motivated and can you commit to doing the work on your own?)

With Christina International High School technology requirements are posted as well as an Online user readiness course to make sure you are ready for classes online. Visit: http://www.christinainternationalhs.com to learn more.
